I don't have the solo tabbed out, but by judging
from the rest of the song it is apparent they are emphasizing a #4 or in other words the lydian scale in the key of E. so try messing around with that.

does anyone know a free tablature program that supports 7 string guitars. I was originally using the powertab software but there is so much extra tweeking involved with its midi its not worth it, I want to do a standard tab for it

Guitar Pro 4 it soport 7 string guitar tabs
Noble: Midi tweaking with powertab? I was given the latest one by a student the other day and it was easy to set up for 7 string. All I had to do was select 7-string guitar and it worked right away.
No, I haven't converted to tab and become a hypocrite! (see other threads involving Tab discussion). I agreed to notate a few exercises in tab because a couple of students refuse to read real music. At least with powertab I can make them read proper rhythms.

i meant if i were to transcribe an entire song there would have to be tweaking to slow parts down or speed them up. i finally figured how to export them to ascii files so its no longer a worry

re GP4 You've got to worry about the quality of the transcriptions when these people don't even know what category to put it in! And what's the deal with lumping "alternative" with "fusion"? they are not the same thing at all - not even similar! I gave up looking at other people's
transcriptions when I noticed how many mistakes there are. It's far easier to sit down and work it out myself. I think a lot of people listen with their fingers - they transcribe what feels right to play with their technique.
When I teach kids how to work stuff out by ear, the first thng I do is tell them to put their guitar down! Then I tell them to hear it clearly in their head, then sing it out loud - only when they can do that do I tell them to find it on the guitar!

hehe yeah i know wat u mean... most of the transcriptions there r crap and they are mixed up in their categories...
but that was not my point, i was talkin about the program Guitar Pro 4, i think it is a great prog, both with staff and tabs and almost all the guitar effects needed (slides, P/O, H/O, etc etc etc.) are there. it is also very easy to use and effective. and of course, u can listen to the whole thing in midi.
