I hope all of you enjoyed last Derek's album,Molecular Heinosity..in the title track,the first section is pretty syncopated,so I like it very much :p this evening I listened to Raw Dog by Dream Theater,written for God of War 3,a videogame..the first 40 seconds are a little too similar to the beginning of Molecular Heinosity in my opinion..check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XLMxIq3kfo and tell me if I m wrong

Hah! You solved my question, where I listened to this before?!
I bet many of us on this board think about the little lack of originality of these or those artists.
some threads emerged the last year about DT or plagiarism.
BTW I like both of them even if something is getting a little too repetitive imho.

Yeah, I thought that as well. Less face melting, but the influence is there.

By the way,I prefer Molecular Heinosity :p and I think that Derek should sell some songs for things like videogames in order to make money..it would be a nice idea..I'd buy the game just 4 the soundtrack :p

Planet X would be the perfect backdrop for science fiction games like Metroid and Mass Effect! That's what I listen to when I read as well.

i actually just listened to this. damn, thats some reeally bad meshuggah copycatting right there. holy jesus....when will it end and who will be next artist to be banged by DT?

Every unique artist needs to fear them, it seems.

not sure why you think of antartica when hearing this.....not in my dreams i would have connected the beautifully made beginning of antartica with this crap

infact I was speaking about the track called Molecular Heinosity...Antartica it's cool but it doesn't matter..the first thing I though when I listened to Raw Dog was "this IS molecular heinosity!" :p

ah shit, my mistake. but it kinda implies that the main thing on the MH album is the trilogy, for me :-)
Yeah, i get your point when comparing to the titel track of MH. Another one banged....This time even a a ex DT member. Thats hilarious!:D
